I found this place here through someone I follow on Instagram and had it saved in my memory, So when an impromptu plan business to get branch around this area. I knew we had to come check out Fays! Really lovely aesthetic and everyone working there was also so kind. We made a lot lot lot lot of customers to our order and they actually made note of everything and delivered on it. Husband got the Hot Chocolate and it was so smooth and delicious. Quite large portion size as well. A friend got the Orange Juice and the couple said it was some of the freshest they have had in a really long time. Sauteed Veggies (with side salad) For super delicious! I think I actually liked it more than my sandwich, haha. It was a mix of broccoli and peppers and onion and some mushrooms and spinach as well. Really nice flavoring and everything went well together. There was quite a lot of volume for this as well. Husband got the Classic Eggs Benedict and he quite liked it. One of our friends got the Veggie Delight Egg White Scramble with hash browns and some soyrizo on the side And seemed to enjoy it. There was so much on that plate that they were not able to finish it! Big shout out to the massive portion size again. Another friend got a veggie burrito (California Burrito without fries or carne asada.. So it was basically just guacamole, pico de gallo, crema, cheddar, and jack cheese) And actually enjoyed it so much! Tortilla was crispy on the outside and they finished the whole thing! I got the Grilled Chicken Deli Sandwich on sourdough, with a side salad. I'd quite a large side Saturn then and good amount of chicken in the sandwich as well. I asked for garlic aioli on the side because I was trying to avoid some extra calories and they accidentally forgot to bring it. I just put some ketchup and mustard in there and it was A little plain but not too bad. There were also pickles in the sandwich which to be honest were not my favorite or maybe they just weren't as strongly flavored compared. Maybe if those pickles were a little better than the whole sandwich would have been a big hit. Overall really good food with quite big potions sizes and loveliest aesthetic of the place too.

A fairly new dog-friendly, country diner in the Scripps Ranch area. I rarely make it over to this part of town and actually came from the coast specifically for this diner and overall I'm happy that I did so although we had some minor issues. Parking is extremely easy because it's attached to a large shopping center with plenty of spaces. It was quite crowded when we arrived, but we did not have to wait at all to be seated indoors. They do have limited outdoor seating, but most seating options are indoor. Our server was very polite and all of our food items came out pretty quickly. I would say pricing is fair and the portion sizes are medium. I do like all the turquoise on the interior and feel based on the menu options and the design inside that it's more of a country diner than a retro diner. The issues that we had were minor, but still resulted in a 4/5 for me. I ordered the Salted Caramel Cold Brew, which I did enjoy although the cold brew was quite bitter. Next came the Spicy Southwestern Chicken Soup and this was actually great. I would definitely get it again and would highly recommend it. For my meal I chose the Country Benedict and overall it was pretty good. The eggs were overdone, so they were not runny at all. The biscuits were quite dry and not fluffy at all so kind of left a dry taste in my mouth and made me have to take a drink after every bite. Also the country fried steak was a bit too overdone in my opinion and feel that they fried out all of the flavor. I did enjoy the side of hashbrowns and would give it another try but next time I would order a different dish. Overall, I have had better in San Diego, but I've definitely had worse and given the limited diner options in town I do think it's worth a visit if you are a fan of diners or are in the area.

The service is fantastic! The menu is huge!! From coffee to alcoholic drinks to pastries to breakfast staples they have a great variety! For our breakfast date we had coffee and fresh squeezed OJ, my husband had the pancake combo with eggs bacon and hash browns, and I had the Cajun Seafood Benedict. We will be back!

Day before Thanksgiving, we go to meet a few of my boyfriend's colleagues for a late breakfast. He had recommended Fay's to them, as he had been there several times. We arrived before they did. There weren't many open tables, but a few booths were available. I prefer a table, so we got one near the front window. There were also a few spaces out front, but it was a cool morning. They arrived and we all marveled at the size of the menu. I swear there were 100 things on it. I asked the waitress about the chilaquiles and she lit up. She said that the red ones were her favorites. So, I ordered that and had them add a side of bacon. Both of the ladies ordered the Florentine eggs Benedict. Joe got a cinnamon bun with eggs and bacon. While waiting for our order, I noticed there was a painting on the wall where the bathrooms are. It is crooked. I couldn't not see it. Side walls are pretty minimal in decor; just a few mirrors and some moulding. The kitchen area has a neon-style sign with a stylized version of the name of the diner. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. At this point, I think our waitress disappeared. I didn't see her for at least half an hour. The chilaquiles were absolutely delicious. They tasted like what I make. What surprised me, however, was that the bacon was crumbled up and mixed in, instead of strips on the side. I didn't mind at all, but it wasn't what I expected. The ladies couldn't finish their benedicts. Joe ate his cinnamon bun but didn't finish the rest. (Could be that they were talking so much that their stomachs just shut down.) Our waitress was still MIA. When I did see her, I gave her my card, because I was afraid she might not come back. I tipped her well, but she didn't come back, so I sat with no refill of my water or tea.

Update: Went back for brunch on a Saturday after a year. Got the soup and salad combo. It was Pozole Verde that day and it was delicious. The salad was a good size too. Great little neighborhood diner! The service is always friendly and fast here. Food was tasty except for their chilaquiles. Their portions were big for the breakfast items. Side salad was on the small side for the lunch items but the french fries were delicious.

Lovely little diner with great food and friendly service! Came here with friends for brunch a couple weekends ago and it was busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our table of six. The diner is clean and cozy, with indoor and outdoor seating. The diner offers awesome seasonal items, classic breakfasts/lunches, and a surprisingly large kids menu. I ordered corned beef hash for myself and the Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter. The corned beef hash was one of the best I've ever had! They make it with large, tender chunks of corned beef (instead of the canned almost-ground-beef kind). The potatoes, peppers, and onions in the hash are very well seasoned. It's a large portion, but so delicious I had to deliberately slow down to avoid overstuffing myself. Great experience here, will be coming back again soon!

Such a great place we came across and totally worth the drive!! We came in on a Sunday and called before hand and although they don't take reservations on weekends someone did us a solid and was our saving Grace knowing we had 3 kids and had a table ready for us upon arrival! The surfer burrito was delicious, the chilaquiles was so good- red sauce has a kick to it, the jalapeños in the chicken burrito also have heatttt! Prices average. The place is way bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside! There's indoor and outdoor dining. Super diner like, spacious, and clean. We saw our waitress a couple times throughout the dining experience and they were all kind and quick which was perfect for their rush hour! Can't wait to come back!

Came here twice already and each time it's been with either a party of 4 or a party of 3. Also, each time was between 9-10am and we didn't have to wait. What's great about this location is that there's plenty of parking. I appreciate that. In any case, we got seated right away, the server got our drink orders and we looked over the menu. The menu is extensive but it's nice to see a lot of options and you really can't go wrong. There's breakfast items like omelets, south of the border items and etc., and then there are lunch items like sandwiches and burgers. The prices are also fair since the portions are a good size. First time I was here I ordered the club sandwich with fries. That sandwich easily could feed two people. It was large and in charge. Good amount of meats, veggies and etc. It was toasted well. The fries were excellent and crunchy. I really like it. Call me basic but it was a good sandwich. The second time I was there I ordered the chilaquiles. They let me have it half green and half red. It had some pork in it and it was flavorful and soft. Generally I do not like beans but their beans were flavorful. I don't know if it was the beans or the red sauce but something had a good kick to it. It was delicious. Oh and it was topped with two over easy eggs that was actually cooked over easy. Overall, the food is flavorful, the service great, the prices are great and location is too. I would definitely come back again and again.

First time here and was surprised at how clean and bright the diner was. The service was great. We sat ourselves and was greeted immediately with menus in hand. The food was surprisingly very good. It was quick and tasty. We shared the corned beef hash & eggs, the corned beef was house made and was super tender and flavorful. If I'm in the area again I will come here just because they had so much on their menu. Thank you Fay's Diner for a delicious first time and great customer service.

Service was quick. The omelettes tasted very nice. The portions were huge and 2 people can easily share. Will go for lunch menu next time.
